About

Multidisciplinary Artist / Digital Creator / Sonic Producer

Andrei Stefan operates at the converging lines of visual art, algorithmic generation, and sonic composition. A multidisciplinary artist with a deep-rooted background in technology and product design, his work unfolds within a hybrid territory where code, digital experimentation, and organic texture intersect.

His aesthetic is built on a deliberate tension between the precision of the digital and the fluidity of the human experience. Drawing from over a decade of expertise in digital product management and design, Andrei deconstructs technical frameworks to rebuild them as artistic narratives. This dual perspective allows him to navigate the emerging iconographies of the AI era, treating the algorithm not just as a tool, but as a collaborator.

Andrei’s auditory practice is equally rooted in both history and evolution. As Ez QuaTez, he was a pivotal figure in the Romanian underground hip-hop scene (1999–2005), co-founding the independent label Avangard Miuzic and the O.P.C. collective. This early dedication to independent production and lyrical architecture has since transmuted into REZQ, his latest sonic venture. Shifting focus from the verbal to the visceral, REZQ explores the weight of electronic bass and deep dubstep, constructing immersive, low-frequency environments that mirror the complexity of his visual work.

Research-driven in his approach, Andrei’s practice is further informed by his history as the co-founder of Plasma Studios. His visual language is characterized by a "pixel-perfect" rigor that dissolves into mixed-media experimentation, where generative AI and digital painting blur the boundaries of authorship and medium.

Whether directing fashion-forward concepts for his brand, SELF-MEID, or sculpting heavy basslines for the dancefloor, the result is a unified field where technology, design, and art become inseparable. Andrei Stefan continues to develop a singular body of work that challenges the traditional silos of creativity, articulating a bold, contemporary view of what it means to be an artist in a post-digital world.
